Dark Lab Films started with a simple idea: stories deserve to be cherished. After years of crossing paths on film sets and commercial shoots, award-winning cinematographer Daniel Martinez and filmmaker Hayden Currie formed Dark Lab Films around a shared love of craft.
We bring a cinematographer’s discipline to every project—shaping light, lens choice, and movement to support emotion. From concept through post, we work with a calm, collaborative process that keeps the work focused and the images honest.
How we work
Intentional from first frame.
We start by listening—what needs to be felt, not just shown. Then we design a visual approach that fits the story: lighting references, camera language, and pacing that matches the message. On set, we keep it efficient and grounded. In post, we polish with restraint so the final piece still feels human.
